Why volunteer?

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn and develop your skills and support Brainwave in the important work we do.

Volunteering also enables us to make more progress with tasks/activities and also, once you are trained and know the role well, will enable your overseer to focus on tasks which wouldn’t usually be possible if you weren’t there!

Who can volunteer?

Almost anyone can volunteer. Our volunteers are over 18 (we may make some exceptions to this for Events Volunteers, but full details of this would be within the role descriptions), and have a wide range of experiences and come from a variety of vocational skill areas.

How much time do I need to give?

We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities which suit different people and availability. Whether you can volunteer for one hour a week or one day a month, you can make a huge difference however, we would request that if you offer to volunteer, that you do your best to fulfil this.

How do I apply?

We will be listing our current volunteering opportunities on this page soon. In the meantime, to find out how you can join the team, contact enquiries@brainwave.org.uk. You will need to complete an application form, provide contact details for two references and have an informal interview with a member of the team however, we will make sure that you are fully supported with this and that you get a nice welcome when you visit us.
