At Brainwave, we work with children who may not yet have a diagnosis or have a syndrome without a name (SWAN). We focus on providing personalised therapy ...programmes to help them reach their full potential, whether that’s through speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, sensory integration or learning and development.

Last week, we welcome three students from @richardhuishcollege to Brainwave for their work experience placement. ☺️

During their time with us, they got hands-on with a variety of tasks, including a fundraising merchandise stocktake, social media activities, reviewing our digital ...platforms, supporting a fundraising event, and conducting retail research.

In just over a week, Chris will be taking on the London Marathon in support of Brainwave. He’s been putting in the miles and dedication, and we’re so grateful for his incredible effort! 👏🏃‍♂️

Here’s a quick training update from Chris:
"Training has been tough but... rewarding, with plenty of long, hilly runs along the way! Hopefully, all those miles (and hills!) have helped build the stamina I’ll need for race day. I have found some weeks of training a challenge to fit in, so I’ve had to be creative and flexible to fit it in around everything else - early mornings, squeezing runs in where possible, and making it work!

One of the highlights has been finishing those long runs at my local coffee shop, meeting my wife and dog, and enjoying a well-earned Americano, a small reward after the longer, tougher runs.

It’s been a real journey over the past few months, and now with the marathon getting so close, the excitement is definitely building (alongside a few nerves!); however, I’m incredibly proud to be running for Brainwave and helping raise awareness of the amazing work the charity does to support children and families. Seeing the impact first-hand is what’s kept me motivated through the tougher runs".

💜 Purple Day for Epilepsy 💜
Today, we stand with children and families affected by Epilepsy raising awareness, breaking stigma, and showing that no child faces this journey alone.

At Brainwave, we support children living with Epilepsy and other neurological conditions through ...specialist therapy programmes tailored to each child’s needs. Our expert therapists work closely with families, teaching them how to continue therapy at home helping children improve their mobility, communication, and learning potential.
