For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to The Brainwave Centre. I’ve chosen this charity because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope that you’ll consider contributing as a way of celebrating with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I’ve included information... about The Brainwave Centre below.

Brainwave is a charity that exists to help children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence by aiming to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of educational and physical therapies.

The Brainwave Programme aims to develop the maximum potential of each child by taking an integrated approach to their physical and cognitive development and by aiming to enhance a child’s social skills and emotional well-being.

Brainwave therapists design and teach bespoke therapy programmes for parents and carers to carry out at home or at school with their children. We work with children with a variety of conditions including acquired brain injuries and cerebral palsy (hemiplegia, diplegia, quadriplegia, dyskinetic, ataxic, periventricular leukomalacia – PVL, hydrocephalus), childhood strokes, brain malformations (such as agenesis of corpus callosum), autism, developmental delay, spina bifida, genetic and chromosomal disorders (such as Down’s syndrome and epileptic conditions), syndromes without a name ( SWAN) and those without a diagnosis at all.

Could Brainwave help your child - or a family you know? 🎈

Brainwave supports children with disabilities, developmental delays and additional needs through specialist Therapy Programmes designed around each child’s individual goals.

Parents and carers can contact us directly. ...Your child does not need to have a diagnosis, and you do not need a referral from a healthcare or education professional.

At Brainwave, families can:

🎈 Attend a full-day assessment with at least two specialist qualified therapists
🎈 Receive a bespoke Therapy Programme designed around their child’s needs
🎈 Learn activities that can be incorporated into everyday life at home or school
🎈 Receive video demonstrations, a detailed report and, where appropriate, equipment to help them get started
🎈 Access continued support between assessments

Our therapists help children work towards greater independence by supporting their mobility, communication, learning and development.

Thanks to charitable funding, UK families with a gross household income below £70,000 currently pay only a £100 per assessment, with no additional assessment contribution required. Support is subject to funding availability.

Children must attend their first Brainwave assessment before their 12th birthday.
