No diagnosis or Syndrome Without a Name (SWAN)

What is No diagnosis or Syndrome Without a Name (SWAN)?

Your child does not need to have a diagnosis to attend Brainwave. We see many children without or awaiting a diagnosis. Some may have been referred to as having a Syndrome Without a Name (SWAN). SWAN is not a diagnosis but is a term used for those with unknown or undiagnosed genetic conditions.

As with all the children we see we focus on assessing them as an individual to help us offer what is suitable to their needs so that they can fulfil their potential.

At Brainwave we see children with a range of conditions including those that are undiagnosed. These children have a huge variety of challenges and are therefore supported by different members of our team.
