Post-SDR Rehabilitation Service
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy is a surgical procedure that children with diplegic cerebral palsy can be offered to help manage their condition. Diplegic cerebral palsy mainly affects lower limbs. Children who have undergone Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery will require significant physiotherapy input to help them on their journey to rehabilitation.
Post-SDR rehabilitation sessions are only available at our South West Centre in Bridgwater, Somerset.
We offer a two-day assessment which includes:
- One-to-one physiotherapy sessions
- Provision of a home Therapy Programme
- A DVD demonstrating the home exercises
- Gait re-education
- Hydrotherapy (six weeks post-operation)
